    Our Hitachi wand broke, and we went shopping for a replacement. We were just going to get another Hitachi, but then we stumbled across the Thunderstick. It was the power control wheel that made us take the plunge (the Hitachi's two settings only was our biggest complaint about it). We are VERY glad we did. The power wheel (especially when paired with the wand remote control we also purchased) gives us very granular control which is very welcome. The power of the Thunderstick seems on par with the Hitachi, and the Thunderstick has a longer power cord, so we aren't quite as bound to our outlet. Also, it seems all our Hitachi accessories work with it, although I don't know if this is intentional or not. If you are looking for a wand, the Thunderstick is a really solid choice.
