I brought that item, and for maximum safety, I had to hack it a bit : removing the rivet (working it a bit with a file), and inserting the two metal parts into some silicone tubing. After the rivet back in place, the teeth are not anymore touching metal. Oh and now that it's safe, it's more secure when you're tying it to the back of the head, but that's not a problem. - cLx

I recommend tying a bit of paracord around it with a cord lock, it keeps it from falling out. That being said the metal is quite hard on the teeth, wish I'd gotten a rubber-tipped one instead.
