Followup to my previous review. The clamps I have are a slightly different model. Mine have a cluster of blunt pins that overlap. These spiked clamps have fewer, conical spikes that should concentrate the force even more.

Bought from a local shop (sorry ER). These clamps are very pinchy. The spikes are like small, blunt end, carpentry brads. A pattern of 8 in a circle and one in the middle. Spacing is slightly more than the diameter of the spikes. The two ends are just enough off center that the spikes mesh together. When opened, the gap is only about 1/4 inch (6 mm).
To get them on, I had to pinch the nipples flat first. Once they were on, WOW! I could only keep them on for a few minutes! I can't imagine pulling on the clamps to tighten further. When I took them off they left cute little dimple patterns almost like tiny golf balls. I plan to work up to several minutes and/or adding weight. Should be excruciating...
