What is Proposition 65?
Proposition 65, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a California right to know law. It requires businesses to warn California residents about meaningful exposure to any of roughly 900 chemicals the state lists as causing cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm. The warning is informational and does not mean a product is unsafe or illegal.
Why am I seeing this warning?
You are seeing it because we ship to California, and a warning is required whenever a product may expose you to a listed chemical above the state threshold. Listed chemicals, including lead and DEHP, can appear in materials used in many everyday goods, so warnings are common across a wide range of products. It is a notice about possible exposure, not a claim that you will be harmed.
Does a warning mean the product is dangerous?
No. A Proposition 65 warning is not a recall, a safety defect notice, or a statement that a product breaks any safety standard. California sets its warning thresholds far below the levels shown to cause harm, so a warning signals possible exposure rather than certain risk. You decide what is right for you.
