The Kama Sutra

Kama Sutra is Sanskrit for Aphorisms of Love. The Kama Sutra is an ancient Indian text written by sage Mallanaga Vatsyayanna sometime between the first and sixth centuries. The Kama Sutra is considered by many to be “The Book of Love”. The most well known part of the Kama Sutra is the section that details human sexuality and sexual unions. The Kama Sutra offers much more insight beyond how to vary positions for copulation.

The Kama Sutra is a detailed and profound text which is based on many writings by authors considered to be wise men. When Vatsyayanna offers a personal insight within the text of the Kama Sutra, he refers to himself in the third person “Vatsyayanna thinks…” He does this because he does not consider the Kama Sutra to be his work alone, but a book based on the insights of many.

The Kama Sutra is a guide to human relationships, especially sexuality and various unions, but it is not pornographic or prurient in nature. In its introduction, the Kama Sutra discusses wealth, virtue, and love. It outlines the study of the 64 arts to achieve respect within the community. The Kama Sutra also offers discourse about the household, its furnishings, community roles, and entertainment. There is also explanation of women who are fit and unfit for union with the citizen.

Part 2 of the Kama Sutra is about sexual unions. It offers insights into the different types of unions based on desire, time and the different types of love. Later in chapter 2 Kama Sutra discusses sexual techniques such as kissing, embracing, marking with nails, and biting are explained. The famous position variations are also contained in this chapter, as well as the various ways to strike and how to react to each method of striking. Three subsections of this chapter cover fellatio, women acting as men, how to end sex, and even how to fight and make up.

Once Vatsyayanna outlined how to mate properly in chapter 2 of the Kama Sutra, he tells you how to acquire a wife in chapter 3. He offers some insights about marriage as an introduction, and then talks about the importance of making your potential mate feel confident when courting. It also explains how to manifest love through performing desirable actions. The Kama Sutra also offers a step by step guide on what is a “man’s job” and things a woman can do to entice a man and subject him to her. The last subcategory in chapter 3 lists and discusses the many different types of marriages.

The Kama Sutra goes on to discuss the maintenance of a happy union by outlining how a man should treat a virtuous woman and how a woman should behave in the absence of her husband. There are also basic rules to cover the politics of the harem dynamic.

In the fifth section of the Kama Sutra, there are many detailed explanations regarding the wives of other men. From who may lure who away from whom, to how to hang on to your own wife. It also talks about the reasons women may reject men and suggestions for how to overcome these objections.

The Kama Sutra’s sixth chapter deals with the rules and regulations for courtesans and those becoming involved with a courtesan. It lists the different types of courtesans, how to get rid of a weary lover, dealing with gains and losses, and rules for living with a man and his wife.

The final chapter of the Kama Sutra tells you how to be attractive to others through appearance, behavior, and tonics. It goes on to discuss penis enlargement, and how to create desire.

All in all, the Kama Sutra is a great manual for dating and mating. Even if this text was written a couple of millennia ago, some things remain true throughout time. Especially, human fascination with the Kama Sutra.

You can pick up great Kama Sutra products including lotions, edible gels and book outlining some of the positions in the ancient text. This could add a new dimension to your sex life.
