These handcuffs work great. the double lock engages easily, unlike what a previous reviewer has said. They are heavy and will hold your partner no matter how much they fight. |

I can't get the button to depress to lock the second lock. I used a variety of strength's to try and depress it thinmking maybe it is fragile and it will break if pushed too hard to matybe it is stiff because it is new and I have to practically STAND on the button.
I can't use these cuffs if I can't get the second lock to work. They are unsafe without the second lock engaged because they will simply keep getting tighter and tighter and tighter when touched either by the person in them or the person putting them on. I don't consider them a safe toy and won't play with them and so am now stuck with yet ANOTHER pair of handcuffs I can't use!!!! GRRR! I've wanted a safe pair of handcuffs for so long!!!
On the POSITIVE side of things: they are heavy and sturdy and the first lock opens and closes easily. They are oval-shaped and so fit naturally to the wrist like police-issue handcuffs do and I can't get out of them like the circular cuffs. I have small wrists that are about the size of a large child's and these handcuffs still keep me bound.
That's MHO |

FYI - actual handcuffs used in the law enforcement field do not come in a green box that says "Designed for Police Use"
Just because these handcuffs actually require a key to open them DOES NOT mean that any self-respecting cop (or even a retarded security guard) would EVER use them. You get what you pay for - handcuffs that cost $26 do not compare to police-issue handcuffs (which are generally made by Smith & Wesson, ASP, Peerless, etc). These handcuffs would be dirt-simple to snap apart in less than 10 seconds by the person wearing them, and even easier to pick with a paper clip. |

if you're looking for handcuffs that work in every way, you've found them.
they come in a little green box that on the outside states "Designed For Official Police Use". on the back of the box there are instructions on how to lock and unlock both the single and double locks.
made of steel, there's no part of the cuffs that you can bend, much less snap or break.
you DO need a key to open the locks, but you don't need the key to lock the single lock. (if you don't know, the single lock is what comes standard on every pair of handcuffs, it's the lock that keeps the handcuffs from opening or becoming more loose without the key. the double lock is engaged by using the back end of the key to poke into a small hole on the side of the handcuff, which keeps the handcuff from closing any tighter.)
all in all, VERY good quality, whatever your uses may be.
side note: the cuffs can make a nice looking heart if you open them at the right angle :) |
