5 of 5 Stars! [Rated 5 of 5 Stars!] by Date Added: Saturday 10 March, 2012
I found this rope to be very comfortable and soft. I loved when Master let me sleep tied up in it, it's the best yet that we have tried...although we are not experts in the rope department. Our other sets are from hardware stores, and I much prefer this! The rope has been very tight, and still only left minimal marks which is good for me and my 'nilla' job. Very satisfied, I will never go back to harsh ropes!!!

Not the best, frayed upon first use.
4 of 5 Stars! [Rated 4 of 5 Stars!] by Single Use Identity Date Added: Thursday 25 November, 2010
SUMMARY: High maintenance, and better for enclosure than actual restraint, but good wihin its limitations. STRUCTURE: The rope is a hollow tube woven from 8 strands. Each strand is an unspun bundle of fibres. The rope has a matte look. It doesn't handle sticky things well: I tried taping the ends temporarily, but when the tape came off it pulled some fibres away with it. Knot-holding is very good, but you have to take some care to avoid pulling fibres away when untying. ENDS: I'd already seen the review of a shorter silk rope and how it frays at the ends, so I expected to have to do some handcraft work. I used a double Matthew Walker knot (like a wall knot, but with each strand looping around 3 neighbours instead of 1), with a little blob of hot melt glue in the middle before the final tightening. I prepared by winding a rubber band around the rope to stop it from unravelling too far, and tying an overhand knot near the end of each strand so that their fibres wouldn't mingle. Took the rubber band off, trimmed and combed the fibres to make a tassel, and it was finished. The rope (loosely chain-braided and inside a lingerie bag) survived the washing machine and dryer with no problems. TUFTS: The main reason I only give it 4 stars is that there are places along the rope where one bundle of fibres ends and another begins (with a bit of an overlap) -- and the ends hang out. My first two were about 20 feet apart. I haven't yet found a good way to tuck them in so that they stay in. STRETCH: When you pull on the rope, it stretches by about 5-10% as the weave elongates, and it loses most of its distinctive soft feel. That's all good for a basic karada that isn't going to see much pulling or struggling, but for a tie that's meant to hold firm, I find nylon rope much easier to use.
