This is for the large size, and the one I received measures 2-3/8 inch diameter at its maximum. It took some time and effort, not to mention a fair helping of H2O Boy Butter, but finally discovered that if I put one foot on the toilet seat it would pop into place. A half hour later removal was also a bit of a strain, but the results are worth the effort. It is big, but the long neck (about an inch and a quarter diameter) makes it comfortable. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase; and will buy a Tantus A-Bomb as a warm-up plug to ease the insertion issue
