Bought one of these, and I was a little disappointed. The bare wood ends were very splintery and rough, and so I doubt I'll ever be able to use it on a bare ass. It was at least fairly cheap though, so I suppose you get what you pay for. As a side note, I bought this item from a different merchant (it had an identical tag), so the ER ones may vary somewhat.
